Property and private equity in the spotlight

Jonathan Davis and Simon Elliott of Winterflood Securities review the week

After their impressive rally the week before, the share prices of investment trusts eased a little this week, with the average discount widening from 6.0% to 8.5%. In the third episode of our new weekly podcast series, dedicated exclusively to investment trusts, Jonathan Davis and Simon Elliott, head of investment trust research at Winterfloods, review the key movements in share prices, NAVs and discounts. Topics covered include: contrasting fortunes in the property sector, updates from Asia and private equity, and more on the outlook for dividends. Popular trusts mentioned include Mercantile, Temple Bar, BMO Commercial Property Trust, Picton Property Income and Scottish American (SAINTS).
