Subscriptions update The new system has, I believe, now normalised, but a reminder that if you have any queries about your subscription please email this address (info@money-makers.co). For any queries to do with the content please feel free to contact me directly via editormm124@gmail.com. If you have been in contact and I have not replied yet, the backlog is shrinking. I am grateful for all the kind words that subscribers have offered about the new weekly email. On the podcast this week On this week's podcast, I talk to Matt Hose, alternatives analyst at the broker/investment bank Jeffries ...

Subscriptions update I believe (hope) that we are now genuinely close to having sorted out all the residual issues arising from the upgrade of our subscription system. If you have been affected, thanks for your patience and tolerance while we have rectified the situation. If you find yourself still being charged twice for your subscription, which has regrettably happened in a small handful of cases, please let me know as soon as possible and we will refund you immediately. Any other queries about your subscription please email this address (info@money-makers.co). For any queries to do with the...

Still boring but important My confidence that our new subscription system would work seamlessly and without bugs has sadly proved to be short-lived. We are finding that a small number of subscribers have temporarily lost access to their accounts and others have not received this new weekly email. In a very small number of cases subscribers are somehow being charged twice for their subscription, which is obviously unacceptable. Anyone who has been charged twice by Paypal will of course be promptly refunded in full. The main issue appears to be that Paypal and the subscription system are not se...

Boring but important The first thing to say this week is in the "boring but important" category and concerns subscription housekeeping. We have finally completed the upgrade of our subscription system with the aim of ironing out some of the bugs which have annoyingly affected a small minority of subscribers to our premium service and I hope - fingers crossed - that these will now not be repeated, but as anyone who has attempted reboots of a website will know, it will not be a total surprise if there aren't a lingering glitch or two. If you are having trouble with an aspect of your subscripti...

This is the fifth in our new regular weekly feature, an email to subscribers that summarises both our latest thoughts and all the regular bonus features you will find as a premium subscriber to the Money Makers Circle. Thank you again for the positive feedback, but do feel free to continue sending your thoughts (to editormm124@gmail.com). This week's email is again abbreviated because of the lingering holiday period. New features that will be added week by week over the coming weeks include lists of my favourite funds, sector and individual trust performance notes and videos, interesting reads...

My notes include some further random thoughts on topical issues. Stuart Watson's profile this week is of Pershing Square Holdings, the global investment trust founded by hedge fund manager Bill Ackman. I have also added a post for my latest podcast with the fund manager Peter Seilern, discussing some of the big picture issues (inflation, Ukraine, bond yields) that are contributing to volatility this year and seem particularly relevant.
Hard truths about the bond market 2022 is turning out to be one of the worst years on record for the bond markets, with analysts pointing out that bond perfor...

In the latest Money Makers podcast we catch up again with Chris Hutchinson, lead fund manager at Unicorn Asset Management, the boutique small cap and AIM fund management firm that boasts one of the best long term records in its universe. How has the fund coped with the fallout from Brexit and Trump’s election? What are the prospects for future returns? And why despite strong demand has the firm capped new applications to its market-leading AIM venture capital trust at just 10% of assets?
