JLEN Environmental Assets (ticker: JLEN) was launched in 2014 during the first wave of renewable trusts, raising £160m at its IPO and looking for annualised returns of between 7.5% and 8.5%. JLEN has raised money several times in recent years and its net assets have grown to £830m. Its mostly UK-based portfolio consists of around 40 renewable assets spread across wind, solar, waste and bioenergy, anaerobic digestion, low carbon, controlled environments, and hydro.
